Last year, the Biden-Harris government created a program within the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA called the “Shelter and Services Program (SSP).” The purpose of SSP is to finance the care and feeding of some of the estimated 10 million illegal migrants so far admitted into the US by the regime.
The taxpayer money in the program goes to sanctuary cities and NGOs who “are providing critical support such as food, shelter, clothing, acute medical care, and transportation” to the illegal migrants in their charge.
SSP (along with a much older program for homeless citizens called the Emergency Food and Shelter Program [EFSP]) granted a total of $780 million last year to those same recipients. This year, SSP alone has already granted $300 million and, yesterday, DHS Secretary Mayorkas announced an additional $380 million for the cities and organizations.
The migrants keep coming in, and the money keeps going out. Only in America.
