A coalition of five sheriffs’ organizations in the Southwest maintains that the “border is spinning out of control.” It maintains that “The immigration crisis has overwhelmed the capabilities of U.S. Customs and Border Protection and all the federal agencies attempting to assist in the efforts to secure our borders.” The coalition also calls on the government not to pass an amnesty for illegal aliens.
