Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) sharply criticized business interests that regard American workers as “commodities” which they can replace with cheaper foreign workers. Sessions declared that “[American workers] are not commodities. They’re human beings. They have families. They have hopes and dreams. They want stability in their life.” The senator also affirmed, “We have no obligation to yield to the lust of big businesses [for cheap labor].”
