Along with rewarding illegal aliens with citizenship, the Senate amnesty bill also would increase visas for foreign high-tech workers–even though many Americans in high tech fields are unemployed. The high-tech issue is still not completely resolved, with senators arguing over proposals to put in at least some protection for U.S. workers. The demand to increase the visas reflects the increased clout of the high-tech industry.
