Republican Representative Eric Burlison of Missouri talked with Fox News yesterday and singled out the administration’s failure to deal with the immigration crisis:
[These are] unprecedented levels of illegal immigration and I think that his [Biden’s] executive orders directly undermined the authority of Customs and Border Patrol, and now we have this crisis situation . . . Over 10 million people that we know of have come across the southern border illegally, and then we have over 2 million people that are known got-aways. When the Biden administration talks about job numbers, and he’s taking credit for this surge in jobs . . . the fact is that more than half of those jobs are occupied by someone who was not living in the United States before Joe Biden became president. And so, that is a disturbing factor. Americans are being replaced. American workers are being replaced.
Rep. Burlison has been a frequent critic of the Biden administration’s border policies. Asked in a May interview on Fox Business why the admin is admitting so many illegals, he said:
All of this illegal immigration is undermining blue collar labor forces in the United States. . . . There’s even been some Democrats that have said the quiet part out loud, that they don’t want to stop the flow of illegal immigrants because they’re able to count those people in their census and they don’t want to lose their Congressional district. So I think that would be step one. Step two would be what you’re seeing blatantly happen in cities like Washington, DC, where they are allowing illegal immigrants to actually vote, which is crazy.
He didn’t say so, but we know what step 3 will be.
