Recommendations for Trump

Jeremy Carl, former Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Interior, has offered some advice to the Trump Administration on how to deal with illegal immigration. In an interview with Border Hawk News he stated that the first priority should be deporting illegal aliens who have committed crimes in addition to their illegal status as well as those, numbering about one million, who still remain in the U.S. despite deportation orders.

Vigorous enforcement against these aliens, he believes, will encourage many others to leave on their own. Further steps he recommended to encourage this process of self-deportation are taxing the remittances they send back to their home countries, cracking down on businesses that hire them, and ending Temporary Protected Status and other programs that encourage them to stay in the U.S.

Carl further maintained that the Trump Administration should exert close scrutiny over Non-governmental Organizations (NGOS) which encourage illegal migrants to settle en masse in American communities, such as Springfield, OH, and Charleroi, PA. If these NGOs are breaking laws, he urged, they should be prosecuted. He added that “[W]e have to totally cut off the money spigot to these [NGOs].”
