House Republicans are backing legislation called the Prints Act, which would require the fingerprinting of children under the age of 14 who are apprehended at the border. The purpose of the bill is to prevent illegal aliens from “buying” kids to cross the border with them. This enables them to pose as a family unit, which in turn makes it easier for them to remain in the U.S.
Rep. Ashley Hinson (R-IA), a sponsor of the bill, said the present situation promotes child trafficking. “What we’re seeing,” she observed, “is that these kids are literally being used and abused repeatedly because of President Biden’s open border policies.” Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) has offered a companion bill to the Prints Bill in the Senate.
