Poll: Most Back LA Guard Deployment

A survey conduced RMG Research polling found that 52 percent of a sample of registered voters either “strongly” or “somewhat” support President Trump’s decision to send National Guard troops to quell anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles. Forty-two percent disapproved of that decision, and seven percent were “not sure.”

The survey also asked respondents if they “approve or disapprove of the efforts by immigration officials . . . to find and arrest illegal immigrants in Los Angeles.” Fifty-seven percent “strongly” or “somewhat” approved, with 35 percent disapproving and nine percent “not sure.”

Scott Rasmussen, the president of RMG Research, observed that “The early numbers coming out of the LA riots suggest things aren’t playing out the way Democrats might have hoped. A couple of weeks ago, 40 percent of voters said the president’s deportation efforts had gone too far. In a survey conducted [Monday], that number is down three points to 37 percent.”
