We have reported how the Biden Administration has granted “parole” to illegal aliens, which gives them legal status to reside in the U.S. More than a million aliens have received this status during the past two years. Parole, as authorized in law, is supposed to be granted on a limited case-by-vase basis–and not in the mass fashion that the administration has carried out.
Paroled aliens are supposed to show up for court appearances to determine whether they can claim permanent residence. But with courts now severely backed up with cases, the wait time for hearing could be years, enough time for them for them to become eligible for federal welfare programs. One estimate of the total cost is $3 billion per year per million parolees.
