Panama: Number of Illegals Headed to U.S. Surges 450%

Bloomberg is reporting that the government of Panama says the entry of U.S.-bound illegal migrants into that country during January and February shot up five times over what it was during the same period last year.

More than 49,000 migrants entered Panama from Colombia the first two months of this year, compared with less than 9,000 during the same period in 2022. Most of the migrants came from Haiti, followed by Ecuador and Venezuela.

The overall 49K included 2,198 Chinese nationals, up a whopping 3,000 percent since China ended its Covid policy in December.

Officials expect a surge at the U.S. border in May of up to 18,000 illegal migrants per day when Washington lifts the Title 42 public health program on May 11.
