Betsy McCaughey of the NY Post looks at the Biden Plan for dealing with mass illegal immigration yesterday in a piece titled “Biden’s welcome program for illegal immigrants.” In it, she notes the following features of that “plan”:
- Under the plan, illegals will be treated more like customers, than criminals. While ICE enforcement funds have been cut by 8%, funding for “noncitizen processing and care” has been increased by 700%.
- Before crossing the border to their new country, many migrants will receive UN-funded debit cards worth hundreds of dollars to help tide them over for a few days during the processing of their (largely bogus) asylum claims. (The U.S. taxpayer funds about 20% of the UN budget.)
- After the expected abandonment of Title 42 next month, the 18,000 to 30,000 newcomers arriving each day at the border will be processed and given an Order of Release on Recognizance, granting them a legal right to travel in the United States.
- They will then be welcomed by one or more federally funded NGOs which will assist them with travel plans and legal assistance. Many will be checked into hotels for a little R&R before continuing. McCaughey calls this service “Catch and Concierge.”
- The migrants may at this time receive special gifts, such as cellphones and tablets, ostensibly to assist in keeping track of them.
- While some migrants will be put on buses for their new homes, many unaccompanied minors and some adults will be flown to various spots around the country on chartered jets.
- Many of those states and localities will then welcome the New Americans with their own basket of goodies, such as Medicaid support and driver’s licenses in New York State.
All in all, it’s a preposterous Brave New World where the greatest country in that world systematically, purposely, and on the part of its leadership, enthusiastically destroys itself, day by day.
