New York State recently amended its law granting drivers’ licenses to illegal aliens to include a provision that threatens state officials with a felony charge if they exchange illegals’ driver data with federal immigration enforcement agencies.
Acting ICE Director Matthew Albence strongly criticized this amendment. He stated, “Basically [New York State] said it was more important . . . that illegal aliens have drivers’ licenses than it is for his state officers to actually do their jobs and go home safely at the end of the night.”
