The ballot in Ohio this November will have a proposed amendment to the state constitution which would prohibit noncitizens from voting. The ballot language states that “only a citizen of the United States . . . can vote at any state or local election held in this state.”
Noncitizen voting in Ohio became an issue when the city of Yellow Springs voted in 2019 to allow noncitizens to cast ballots in city elections.
