On Monday, January 14, between 600 and 800 Hondurans began yet another trek toward the United States. Expressing their hope that President Trump “won’t be so hard and will let us enter,” they set off on buses, leaving what Reuters calls the “entrenched poverty and gangland violence” of their homeland. The news account notes, however, that their unhappiness with home did not prevent them from waving Honduran flags. More migrants are expected to join them in coming days.
