After the immigration raids at poulty plants in Mississippi, illegal alien advocates suggested, as they often do, that illegal immigration is a victimless crime. A different message comes from Jere Miles who heads the Department of Homeland Security’s investigators office in New Orleans.
In testimony before Congress he noted that most of the 680 illegal aliens arrested in the raids were using the stolen identities of American citizens. That kind of theft puts the victims at risk for numerous problems as they interact with government and the private sector. Said Miles: “They stole the IDs of 400 U.S. citizens. Where’s their voice?”
