Mother of Murdered Woman Testifies

Tammy Nobles testified before House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement. She is the mother of Kayla Marie Hamilton who was murdered last year in Maryland. Arrested and charged with the murder was an illegal alien from El Salvador.

The suspect had a criminal record involving “illicit affiliation” with the notorious MS-13 gang. Nevertheless, U.S. authorities allowed him to settle in this country as an Unaccompanied Alien Child (UAC) after failing to check his background adequately. The suspect claimed he was fleeing gang violence in his country.

In her testimony Nobles stated, “This could have been anyone’s daughter. . . . The United States government has to properly secure our border, and we need to vet all border crossers. The government could have placed a phone call to authorities in El Salvador and found out that [the suspect] was a gang member, but they didn’t. If we had stricter border policies my daughter would still be alive.”
