Many Haitians Not Directly from Haiti

Many corporate media accounts give the impression that Haitians illegally crossing our border are fleeing hardship in Haiti. The purpose is to generate sympathy to prevent them from being deported. An investigation by the Center for Immigration Studies paints a different picture.

Many or perhaps most of these Haitians did not come directly from Haiti. They instead resettled first in countries like Child and Brazil where they were living secure and comfortable lives. They came to U.S. simply to increase their economic prospects even more.
