Even the liberal, pro-amnesty USA Today sees the danger to the American constitutional system of government posed by Obama’s plan to ignore Congress and decree amnesty for millions of illegals. In an editorial Sunday, the newspaper noted the anticipated amnesty decree would “set a dangerous precedent” for future presidents to act unilaterally on “significant matters without the assent of Congress.”
The editorial conceded that “Congress is the only appropriate venue for adopting such sweeping changes in policy” and pointed out that “Obama himself has said so in the past.”
“Our advise: Don’t do it.”
