As a consequence of its “sanctuary” policies, which protect illegal aliens, Los Angeles is now releasing many criminal aliens instead of turning them over to ICE for deportation. Tim Robbins, ICE’s top deportation official, testified to Congress that as many as 100 of these aliens are released each day. The California Sheriff’s Association opposes this policy.
