In 2018 Massachusetts District Court Judge Shelly Joseph helped an illegal alien to escape Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) by guiding him to leave her courthouse by the back door. The story drew national attention at the time. Now the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston has ruled that she can face prosecution for her action. Shelly maintains that she has legal immunity as a judge.
