Immigrant Fertility Falls

A study by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) found that the fertility rate of immigrants has sharply declined in recent years. From 2008 to 2019 it fell from 2.75 per woman to 2.02, a level below the replacement rate. This means that immigration will not effectively reverse the trend of an aging U.S. population, a claim often made by immigration advocates.
