Illegal Pass, TX: Another Day, Another Horde of Migrants

Bill Melugin, immigration reporter for Fox News, has posted videos of scenes he witnessed over the weekend on the border at Eagle Pass, Texas.

Dubbed “Illegal Pass” by some, in reference to the fondness smugglers and illegal migrants have for the area as a border-crossing point, Eagle Pass continues day after day receiving enough illegals to throw NY City mayor Adams into conniption fits.

By 10:52 am on Sunday, Melugin tweeted that he had already witnessed more than 500 migrants cross the Rio Grande into Texas from Mexico. The groups, consisting he said almost exclusively of single adults, included one large group of 290 (shown above).

All told, more than 700 were seen crossing into the U.S. on Sunday. More than 1.7 million illegal migrants have been “encountered” at the border this fiscal year, exceeding last year’s record numbers. And every month since March has witnessed at least 200,000 encounters. How many “get away” without being noticed? No one really has any idea, though last month we quoted the sheriff of Texas’ Brewster County, Ronny Dodson, who estimated that 70 percent or more might be getting through, unencountered.
