ICE Arrests 32,809

During the first 50 days of the Trump administration, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 32,809 illegal aliens. That number is more than double the number that the Biden administration arrested during the same period last year. So many have been taken into custody that available detention centers are maxed out and then some. ICE has only enough funding to house 41,500 and over 47,600 are already being detained. The Department of Defense, U.S. Marshals Service, and Bureau of Prisons are assisting in finding bed space, and Congress is being asked to provide more money for the roundup.

Also announced by officials is that most of the “arrests” made by Biden’s government last year (they claimed a total of 113,431) were actually so-called “pass-through” arrests, where an individual was processed and then released back on to the streets. Those released included thousands of gang members and violent criminals. ICE is concentrating on finding the previously released offenders. So far, none of their arrests have been pass-through.

At the rate ICE is going, around one million will have been apprehended by year’s end. That’s a considerable number but far less than the multiple millions admitted under Biden. There is much more work to be done.
