In a speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Tom Homan, border czar for the Trump administration, issued the following warning: “I’m coming to Boston and I’m bringing hell with me.”
Homan was referring to Boston’s sanctuary policy which protects illegal aliens from the deportation efforts of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He specifically aimed his warning at Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox who recently affirmed that he would not cooperate with ICE by holding illegals under “detainers” so that ICE can come and arrest them.
Continuing in his speech Homan stated: “I looked at the numbers this morning, I counted, I stopped counting at nine. Nine child rapists that were in jail in Massachusetts, but rather than having an ICE detainer, [they] released them back into the street.” Then, directing his words to Cox, Homan charged, “You’re not a police commissioner, take that badge off your chest, put it in the desk drawer, because you became a politician. You forgot what it’s like to be a cop!”
