President Biden’s recent executive order supposedly will slow down illegal immigration, at least until the November presidential election. But illegal alien advocates will not tolerate any possibility that their law-breaking friends might suffer inconvenience.
To that end, the far-left American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and other pro-alien groups announced a joint lawsuit to halt the executive order. Some Washington observers say that the administration anticipated such a lawsuit and even welcomed it.
The theory is that the administration wants the order overturned so that on the campaign trail Biden can claim to border control supporters that he tried to serve them, while at the same time not offend his open-border base by actually doing something.
