Breitbart News is reporting that globalist-oriented big business types are dominating discussions regarding legal immigration issues with the Trump White House.
Representatives of the cheap labor lobby, including the Chamber of Commerce, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (!), the Koch brothers and Bush family interests, and others appear to be having their way in the talks, led by first son-in-law Jared Kushner. Kushner and company have floated two deals recently, both of which are favored by the lobby: An amnesty for up to two million illegals in this country and increased availability of visas for businesses anxious to bring in foreign workers.
Such policy changes would constitute a complete about-face for President Trump, who campaigned on and as president has frequently expressed support for the opposite of both proposals. It would also be another example of how, even while bested in elections, some people like the Bush family still seem to get their way.
