The Obama administration got a “twofer” when they recently created a new program to provide free lawyers to represent minor illegal aliens in immigration proceedings. Not only will the illegals have lawyers and paralegals helping them stay in the U.S., but liberal law students, lawyers and paralegals will get modest salaries and valuable experience – all at taxpayer expense.
In the June 6 press release from the Department of Justice announcing the program, Attorney General Eric Holder said: “With the launch of justice AmeriCorps, we’re taking a historic step to strengthen our justice system and protect the rights of the most vulnerable members of society…”
“Through this program, we affirm our allegiance to the values that have always shaped our pursuit of justice. We empower new generations of aspiring attorneys and paralegals to serve their country and stand on the front lines of this fight.”
