El Paso: “Overrun.”

The city of El Paso, Texas, whose population in 2020 was determined by the Census Bureau to be 678,815, is now in the direct path of an overwhelming invasion by illegal aliens, many of them Venezuelans. Since September 1, local officials have been encountering an average of 1,300 illegals every day. El Paso’s huge CBP intake center can handle 3,400 people, but it is now so slammed that processing of so-called asylum seekers is being done under a makeshift shelter along a highway. Those processed are then either placed on buses for New York City (25 NYC-bound buses have been chartered by the city so far) or, more likely, simply dumped onto city streets, where they loiter, panhandle, and sleep on sidewalks. There are no more government-funded hotel or shelter rooms available.

US Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-Texas), whose district covers part of the city, told the NY Post on Tuesday, “It’s a scene that you would see in a third-world country, not in the streets of El Paso. I was having regular conversations with the White House a few months ago, and now, we really aren’t having any conversations. Just when you think [things] can’t get any worse, they get worse.”

How worse they have gotten can be quantified. The Border Patrol says the El Paso sector has seen a 46.9% increase in encounters from October through July, compared with the same period last year. And Gonzales says, “[E]very indication tells me that we haven’t seen the worst yet.”

The effect on El Paso is, he said, “very sad to see.”

This is how what was only recently the most modern and prosperous nation on earth is becoming nothing but an enormous third-world pigsty.
