Breitbart News is reporting that family pets may breathe a little more freely this holiday season around Spriingfield, Ohio, as Haitian migrants appear to be decamping from that city to friendlier climes. Breitbart says those climes include Chicago and New York City.
As many as 20,000 migrants, most of them from Haiti, have arrived in Springfield (pop. 58,662) during the Biden-Harris administration. There have ensued numerous complaints from locals about migrants stealing and eating pets and also killing and eating birds from city parks. Strictly anecdotal, local and state officials — anxious to avoid bad PR — insist, but the complaints are numerous. Some undeniable effects that have been fully documented are increased housing costs, housing shortages, welfare dependency, pressure on schools, and automobile accidents.
Breitbart, quoting The Guardian and CBS News, suggests that some relief may be on the way, however, as a number of migrants have indicated they will leave and “some have already fled.” Unfortunately for the country overall, they do not seem ready to move back to Haiti and other homelands. Most interviewed have said they “plan to flee to sanctuary jurisdictions like Chicago and New York City.”
At least the dogs and cats in Springfield may catch a break.
