The Washington Free Beacon reports that the Biden Administration is flying people from the African country of Cameroon to the United States even though they had previously been deported for illegal entry into our country.
The Free Beacon says the administration may have taken this step in response to a report by Human Rights Watch that dozens of deported Cameroons were mistreated when they returned home. In any case, the previous administration of former President Trump ruled that their claims for asylum were invalid.
The Biden Administration make no public announcement about the flights. Current and former officials of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) say there is little if any precedent for such a program.
Jon Feere, a former ICE official, observed that “Gutting deportations isn’t enough for the Biden administration, so now they’re apparently bringing back previously deported illegal aliens. These are people who have already had their cases closed, one way or another, and they’ve been returned home.”
