Deportations of Illegals Drop Under Obama

Despite “an unprecedented surge of illegal border crossings in the Rio Grande Valley,” 52,701 fewer illegal aliens were deported during Fiscal Year 2104 than in the previous year, according to a new report by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). There were 315,943 removals in FY 2014, down from 368,644 in FY 2013.

Only a small percentage of the Central American families and unaccompanied minors who illegally poured across the border this summer were sent home, according to a report by KPRC-TV in Houston: “Of the 15,614 families caught” between July 18 and Oct. 28 this year, “4,197 have been ordered removed from the U.S.  However, 96 percent of those removal orders were done ‘in abstentia’ because the aliens failed to show up in immigration court.”

Deportations of illegals already present in the country decreased 24% to the lowest level since 2006.
