Denmark’s prime minister Mette Frederiksen told her country’s parliament that Denmark needed to reduce the number of asylum applications it accepts. “We cannot promise zero asylum seekers,” she stated, “but we can set up that vision. We need to be careful that not too many people come to our country, otherwise our social cohesion cannot exist.”
