Democrat senators addressing a group of Hispanic media outlets said they will take a hard-line position on amnesty, specifically stating that legislation granting it must allow illegal aliens a pathway to citizenship. Some Republicans in Congress have supported amnesty without permitting illegal aliens to apply for citizenship. Said Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL), “This notion that we can have a comprehensive bill and not include a path to citizenship is unacceptable.”
