Democrat mayors of over two dozen cities announced Monday an effort they call “Cities United For Immigration Action” to assist President Obama’s amnesty plan. Leftist New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said the city officials will attempt to reach all eligible applicants through community outreach and education efforts to ensure as many immigrants as possible apply for protection under the program.
They plan to work with faith, business and labor leaders to reach out to illegals with activities such as “Know Your Rights” rallies. “The president’s plan to act on immigration reform is crucial to creating a more just country, and the federal government is depending on cities to implement the plan,” said de Blasio at the gathering of Democrat mayors in New York City Monday.
