Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn of Texas, along with 66 other senators and representatives, have filed an amicus brief in the lawsuit filed Dec. 3rd in a Texas federal district court by Texas Attorney General (and governor-elect) Greg Abbott. The lawsuit seeks a preliminary injunction against Obama’s amnesty edict, asserting that his executive action is unconstitutional since only Congress has authority to make laws.
U.S. District Judge Andrew S. Hanen has scheduled a hearing for Jan. 9 in the federal court in Brownsville, Texas.
