Cooperation Doesn’t Discourage Reporting

Illegal alien advocates commonly maintain that local authorities shouldn’t assist immigration law enforcement because it will discourage illegals from reporting crimes to those authorities. Contrary to this viewpoint the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) found through analysis of National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) that cooperation does not significantly affect reporting.
