The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) is a respected immigration research organization, whose members have often testified before Congress. It is suing the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) for falsely labeling CIS a “hate group.” The SPLC is a radical-left organization guided by the neo-communist ideology of Cultural Marxism.
The goal of radical-left groups like the SPLC is to promote excessive immigration in order to destabilize American society. The ensuing chaos, the leftists hope, will give them the opportunity to seize power. They seek to silence and discredit opponents of their strategy by smearing them as “racists” and “haters.” CIS’s legal action is a civil lawsuit under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).
