The 1,200 illegal aliens that Governor Greg Abbott has so far bused to Chicago this year have at least gotten the attention of some officials from that city and the State of Illinois.
On Saturday, Del Rio Sector Acting Deputy Chief Patrol Agent Johny Bernal welcomed to the Del Rio Sector a team headed by Chicago Commissioner of the Department of Family and Support Services Brandi Knazze and Illinois Department of Human Services Secretary Grace Hou. Along with other team members, the two toured the border in the sector and spoke briefly on a video tweeted by the CBP.
The officials vaguely described the visit as “eye-opening” and “enlightening,” and Bernal effusively professed his deep gratitude for the attention. However perfunctory and fruitless that attention may ultimately prove to be, at least Chicago and Illinois have taken the trouble to visit the border and see for themselves. That’s more than certain others have done.
