TX Attorney General: Obama Edict ‘Tramples’ Comnstitution

Texas is one of twenty-five states bringing a lawsuit against President Obama's unilateral declaration of amnesty for five million illegal aliens. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton declared, "No individual is above the law, not even the president of the United States. President Obama's brazenly lawless action in November trampled on the U.S. Constitution. It is a clear violation of the Take Care Clause and federal statuary law. As the president himself repeatedly admitted, he lacks the authority to impose this unilateral amnesty. The president's action makes clear that he has decided that the rule of law no longer applies to his administration. President Obama's action violates the separation of powers and goes beyond prosecutorial discretion to the point of unilaterally creating and enforcing legislation -- bypassing the peoples' duly-elected representatives in Congress entirely."
