Jeremy Carl, former Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Interior, has laid out a strategy for the Trump Administration to carry out mass deportation of illegal aliens. He stated. “It’s going to take some really tough folks to get mass deportations done, but I think [Border Czar Tom] Homan has indicated he is ready to fire on all cylinders, and certainly President Trump is and Stephen Miller is. It’s going to be a bit of an early gut check, but I am optimistic we are going to pass it.”
The task should begin, Carl affirmed, by aggressive action to round up illegals with criminal records and those under deportation orders. The latter number more than a million. He recommends the following steps to make illegal residence in the U.S. as difficult as possible: taxing the remittances illegals send back to their home countries, cracking down on businesses them, and ending the TPS program, which often grants de facto amnesty to illegal resident.
Carl further believes that the federal government should set its sights on the activities of nongovernmental organizations (NGOS) that facilitate the settlement of illegals in the U.S. Commonly, a large share of their budgets comes from dollars provided by taxpayers.
NGOs have played a key role in the flooding of small cities, like Springfield, OH, and Charleroi, PA, with large numbers of illegal migrants. Carl says the government should examine these activities and prosecute he NGOs if they have broken any laws.
Carl maintains that beginning with strict and limited enforcement will send the message to the broader community of illegal aliens that their their lives won’t be nearly so comfortable as they are now. In that situation, they may decide to return home on their own, a process some have described as self-deportation.
