To prepare for the estimated 1.4 million illegal aliens eligible to apply for a driver’s license when a new law take effect January 1, the California DMV has gone on a hiring spree. According to DMV spokesperson Jessica Gonzalez, the agency has already hired more than 400 new employees and will bring on another 500 before the first of the year. California is the ninth state to give driver’s licenses to illegal aliens.
All Calif. DMV employees will be required to take diversity training to help the illegals pass the driving exam. “There could be a language barrier,” said Gonzalez. The leftist Service Employees International Union (SEIU) represents most of the DMV workers, and is in full support of the new law. “For us, it’s more of a social justice thing,” said union statewide coordinator Ted Burnett.
