Border Patrol Union: ‘Serious Concerns’ about Senate Bill

The National Border Patrol Council (NBPC), the union representing Border Patrol agents, is skeptical of the proposal in the Senate immigration “reform” bill to add 20,000 agents to the Border Patrol in ten years. The Vice President of the union, Shawn Moran, suggested that “take the handcuffs [off]” the existing Border Patrol force might be a better approach than a huge increase of personnel. Said Moral, “We’ve never been allowed to fully enforce the immigration laws, and if we did that, we think it would have a dramatic impact on illegal immigration,”
