Boehner’s Memo on Lawsuit Against Obama

On the blog, Roll Call 218, David Elridge has posted the entire text of House Speaker Boehner’s memo to fellow House members explaining the reasoning behind his decision to initiate suit against Obama last week.  It is worth noting, however, that some legal scholars believe Congress itself has the power to reign in excessive executive action by passing laws such as cutting off funding, despite what Boehner says in his memo suggesting that suing Obama is the only remedy short of impeachment.

As Obama readies new edicts waiving the immigration laws and granting amnesty to ever larger numbers of illegals, the legal remedies available to halt his shredding of the Constitution will become a critical issue.
