Biden Doesn’t Love a Wall, Sells Unused Parts

During the first Trump administration, 450 miles of border wall were completed, but materials for an additional 200 miles were left in the sand. They had remained there ever since, until Joe Biden and his minions put them up for sale, at fire sale prices. The parts are perfectly usable and could easily be used by the incoming second Trump administration to finish the wall, but Joe Biden will do anything during the brief time he has left to do as much as he can to thwart his successor.

Now, that successor is demanding that Biden cease and desist the sale, which he suggests may be illegal. Trump has declared:

What they’re doing is  . . . almost a criminal act. They know we’re going to use it, and if we don’t have it, we’re going to have to rebuild it. And it’ll cost double what it cost years ago, and that’s hundreds of millions of dollars because you’re talking about a lot . . . of wall.

GOP officials have also waded into the issue. Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-T) has introduced a bill to prohibit the use of federal funds “to deconstruct, dismantle, or otherwise render inoperable any segment of the physical barrier along the international border between the United States and Mexico.” According to Fox News, Hagerty’s bill would also bar the use of funds “to auction, sell, transfer, or otherwise dispose of any materials or supplies purchased or otherwise acquired by the Federal Government for the purpose of constructing, maintaining, or reinforcing a physical barrier along such border.”

The auctioning of the wall parts began in 2023, when the administration listed them on GovPlanet.com, an online auction site. Officials in Arizona have told Fox News that auctions have occurred weekly since then. The practice became widely known recently when a video was published that showed the unused parts being transported on flatbed trucks in Arizona.
