“Bad News” Performer Is “Scared”

Country music “star” Zach Bryan (no, I never heard of him either) is busy backtracking on the political message of his current recording “Bad News.” Breitbart News quotes some of the lyrics this way:

And ICE is gonna come, bust down your door
Try to build a house no one builds no more
But I got a telephone
Kids are all scared and all alone
The Boss stopped bumping, the rock stopped rolling
The middle fingers rising and it won’t stop showing
I got some bad news
The fading of the red, white and blue

Once you cut through the drivel, this seems to be a woke-ish slam on President Trump’s campaign to expel from this country people with no business being here. The song has created something of a backlash, and Bryan is trying to tamp that down, posting on Instagram Tuesday:

I wasn’t speaking as a politician or some great-than-thou a–hole, just a 29-year-old man who is just as confused as everyone else.

Leaving aside the question of just what kind of an a**hole he was speaking as, his defense, in addition to being “scared,” is he’s “as confused as everyone else.” Well, Mr. Bryan, not all of us are confused. Many of us are clear-eyed about the fact that open borders are ruining our country and are largely responsible for that “fading of the red, white and blue” that you sing about. If you don’t know what you’re talking about, maybe you should consider shutting up.
