You’ve heard of the nationwide baby formula shortage. If members of your family are of a certain age, you are probably experiencing it firsthand. Asked May 13 about the crisis, Clueless Joe Biden said, “Who knew? Have to be a mind reader to see that one coming!”
Of course, the Wall Street Journal, not a mind reader, knew and reported on it in January, but Clueless Joe obviously didn’t get the message.
As you can see above, at that time the WSJ was torn between blaming the suppliers or the retailers. Instead, how about setting aside a little blame for our government, in particular the Departments of Health and Human Services and Homeland Security? Are departments of the Executive branch hoarding supplies for use by illegal migrants while American babies face the risk of going without?
In 2019 those two departments spent $230 million on “snacks, diapers and baby formula” for illegals. No one is yet saying how much the government is spending these days, when the number of illegals crossing into the U.S. is spiraling out of control. Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) asked that very question, however, in a May 12 letter to the respective heads of those departments. In the letter, Banks notes the shortages in Texas, which is receiving a full frontal assault from the alien influx:
Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL) has also addressed the problem, tweeting the following photos. On the left are fully stocked shelves of baby formula and baby food at the Ursula Processing Center in McAllen, Texas. On the right is a largely empty shelf at a local Florida store, the kind where American citizens have to shop:
Cammack explains in her tweet that the photos and videos showing “stocked warehouses and pallets of baby formula” were sent to her by Border Patrol agents.
The administration’s volunteer army of Twitter warriors have leapt into action in response to Banks and Cammack, of course, but the fact remains that the government has its priorities and those priorities don’t lie with American citizens.
More and more, what Cammack calls the “America Last” regime of Joe Biden is coming to resemble that of the old Soviet Union, which back in the day maintained fully stocked beriozka shops strictly for foreigners. Citizens need not apply.
