Amazon has plans to automate 160,000 of its jobs with AI directed robots by 2027, and 600,000 its jobs by 2033. Amazon maintains that this shift will make its operations more efficient and save customers a total of $2 billion a month.
To meet this competitive advantage, other major corporations involved in shipping products will have to automate as well. That could mean the replacement of as many as 10 million blue-collar workers over the next eight years. According to one estimate, around 30 percent of all jobs now done by people will be automated by 2030.
In the face of these trends, mass immigration advocates keep telling us that we face a terrible “labor shortage” which only foreign workers can remedy. They don’t see the reality of advancing automation, most probably because they don’t want to see it.
