Fifteen States Sue Administration

The attorneys general of fifteen states are suing the Biden Administration to prevent it from providing healthcare under the Affordable Care Act to illegal aliens in the DACA category. The leader of this action is Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach. The other states involved are Alabama, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Virginia.

The administration’s plan, if not stopped, will go into effect in November, and provide coverage for more than 100,000 illegal immigrants. The Affordable Care Act, as passed by Congress, specifically states that its benefits are only available to people who are “legally present” in the United States.

“Illegal aliens,” said Kobach, “shouldn’t get a free pass into our country. They shouldn’t receive taxpayer benefits when they arrive, and the Biden-Harris administration shouldn’t get a free pass to violate federal law. That’s why I am leading a multistate lawsuit to stop this illegal regulation from going into effect.”
