Appeals Court Rules Against Obama Amnesty Edict

A federal appeals court decision Monday stops President Obama from going forward with his plan to give up to five million illegal aliens work permits and protection from deportation.  The three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, in New Orleans, ruled 2 to 1 against an appeal by the Obama administration, saying the lawsuit brought by 26 states to stop Obama’s scheme was likely to succeed at trial.

While the ruling was another blow to Obama’s efforts to circumvent the law by granting an amnesty and other benefits to illegals, it may have come in time for his lawyers to appeal the decision to the Supreme Court for consideration next year.
