Alien Lawbreakers Aren’t Law-Abiding

Many amnesty advocates claim that illegal immigration is a victimless crime, if indeed it is a crime at all. One who expressed this idea several years ago was News Corporation CEO Rupert Murdoch who stated that he and fellow billionaire Michael Bloomberg were in favor of legislation “that gives a path to citizenship for responsible, law-abiding immigrants who are in the U.S. today without proper authority.” – cnsnews.com – 9/30/10.

Fact Check: “Without proper authority” is Murdoch’s euphemism for illegal residence in the U.S. Thus he says that we should reward law-abiding lawbreakers with citizenship! Murdoch seems to have such a low regard for laws protecting our sovereignty and citizenship that he scarcely regards them as laws at all.

Whatever one may think of immigration laws involving entry and exit of foreign nationals, the truth of the matter is they are not the only laws illegal aliens break. To remain and function in this country, they commonly break many other laws—and quite a number of them genuinely victimize U.S. citizens.

A recent study by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) provides a detailed summary of these laws and their significance. To view this study, see the link below:

Myth of the “Otherwise Law-Abiding” Illegal Alien

To support themselves in the U.S. illegal aliens typically take jobs and access public benefits, such as public education for their children and health care at public hospital emergency rooms. To do so, they commonly use fake documents, a significant offense. And on many occasions, they engage in identity theft from American citizens which the CIS study notes causes those citizens great difficult to correct.

The jobs and services illegal aliens take come at the expense of citizens. The illegal employment of foreign nationals lowers wage levels, particularly those of our working poor and allows unscrupulous businessmen to gain a competitive advantage over others who obey our employment laws.

One advantage of hiring illegal aliens is that many of them, along with their employers, violate our tax laws by receiving payment under the table. Citizen taxpayers must make up for the taxes they don’t pay. And when illegal aliens do file taxes, it is not uncommon for them to claim bogus dependants to get refunds. See link below:

The operation of motor vehicles is another area where illegal aliens often break laws by not having drivers’ licenses, registration, and insurance. Costs can be considerable for those involved in accidents with uninsured motorists.

Illegal aliens are commonly people who make lawlessness a way of life. That background does not auger well for what character they might have as citizens.
